Introducing Andy Hirst, PhD
Andy's Bio
For over 15 years, Andy has been working with and training dogs. Andy, a social psychologist, realised that dogs and human psychology was much the same and many aspects of human behaviour and psychology was understood by scientist from observing dogs. So it was only natural for him to apply his scientific skills to helping and supporting dogs to be better behaved.
Andy has a passion for teaching and has spend the last 10 years working with udnergraduates at Sheffield Hallam University. Andy won a coveted inspirational teaching award for his skill at motivating and developing students employability. He's developed four highly successful and award winning courses and renowned for making education fun and exciting.
Andy says "Peak District Dog Practice was born out of both a love for dogs and education. I wanted to make dog owners better able to train and look after their furry friends. My approach is relaxed and my goal is to bring the fun back to dog ownership. I want to banish the idea that training is boring for both dogs and owners."
